A gift shop in the UK is selling 'British' Aran jumpers

This is the future that Brexit wants.

THERE ARE VERY few things that we can do successfully that the Brits won’t try and co-opt as their own.

Saoirse Ronan, Colin Farrell and Michael Fassbender have all been nominated under awards categories referring to them as British actors. Conor McGregor was once called the first UFC champion from the UK.

You might think that by naming a product after the place in Ireland where it was produced you would be insuring it against any confusion as to where it was made, but apparently not.

Brace yourself for this abomination spotted in a UK gift shop by Reddit user Donal:

Where do we even start with this? It’s completely paradoxical.

If they advertised it as a British Aran style jumper, maybe you could let it slide. But they didn’t. This isn’t an Aran jumper. This is an attack on all jumpers as a matter of fact. Look at how flimsy the 100% British (not Aran) wool is. £45? No thank you. As one Reddit user commented:

If you’re going to say “Made in the UK” you’re revoking your right to call it an Aran jumper. Call it Aran style if you must, but just think of how many tourists will think that the quality of this jumper reflects on our version. They won’t even realise that these jumpers are supposed to be thick and not glorified fishnets made of wool.

And then to plaster the Union Jack on it? That’s just adding insult to injury.
